Omega Genève Automatic “Turquoise Stone” – Cal. 1012 – Ref. 166.0190

The Omega Genève Ref. 166.0190 is a striking example of Omega’s 1970s design language, when the brand moved beyond traditional round dress-watch cases toward larger, more architectural forms. Omega’s own vintage database dates the stainless-steel ST 166.0190 to 1974–1975 and confirms the reference with the automatic Calibre 1012 and date function.

Its broad TV/tonneau-shaped case and integrated-style bracelet give the watch a noticeably sportier character than earlier Genève models. Surviving examples are documented at approximately 36 mm wide and 44 mm lug-to-lug, making this a substantial vintage Omega for its period.

This particular example has been transformed by a dramatic Turquoise Stone-inspired dial. The vivid turquoise-blue surface is crossed by darker mineral-style veining, creating the visual character of natural turquoise while contrasting beautifully with the warm gold-tone applied indexes. Against the brushed stainless-steel case and bracelet, the result is a particularly distinctive interpretation of this 1970s Genève.

Condition

Presented in very good vintage condition. The stainless-steel TV/tonneau case and bracelet create the strong geometric appearance characteristic of Omega’s 1970s design period.

The dial has been professionally repainted in a Turquoise Stone-inspired finish and should not be considered an original factory-finish dial or genuine natural turquoise stone. Its vivid turquoise coloration and darker mineral-style veining give each section of the dial considerable visual depth, particularly under changing light.
