The Montblanc Writers Edition Honoré de Balzac Ballpoint Pen (Ident. No. 109296) was released in 2013 and was limited to exactly 14,500 pieces worldwide.

Elements
The design is heavily inspired by 19th-century French dandyism and honors the physical presence and themes of the famous novelist behind La Comédie Humaine

• The Barrel & Body: Made of precious black resin and warm grey lacquer featuring a fine pinstripe guilloché pattern. This design directly references the cutaway trousers favored by refined Parisian gentlemen of Balzac’s era.
• The Shape: Features a distinct, slightly oversized, bold silhouette that mirrors Balzac's own stature.
• The Clip: A platinum-plated clip adorned with turquoise lacquer inlays at the top, capturing the likeness of the author's famously opulent walking cane.
• The Accent Rings: Graced with complex platinum and gold-plated rings. They transition from a simple design at the cone to a highly intricate layout near the cap, symbolizing the distinct social classes that emerged in early 19th-century France—a central focus of Balzac's writing.
