Dial and Hands

Good vintage condition. The dial is exceptionally clean, while the hands display moderate oxidation. The gold-plated case shows moderate surface scratches and handling wear, with plating degradation visible on the lug edges, flanks, and crown. The crystal has light scratches from normal use. The movement records a strong timegrapher result, confirming very capable mechanical performance.

History
Debuting around 1964, the Citizen Auto Dater Uni line represented a significant technical step for the brand. The Uni designation was marketed to highlight the practical combination of an automatic movement with a date complication. Internally, the UNI movement, designated as caliber 2400 for models with a date, was Citizen's first oscillating weight automatic design. This new architecture replaced the previous Jet circular gear system, establishing a modern foundation for Citizen's automatic watch production throughout the 1960s.
