Zeiss Ikon Box-Tengor II 56/2 – Medium-format film camera – Goerz Frontar-Achromat – 1951-1956
Classic Zeiss Ikon Box-Tengor II camera, model 56/2, manufactured in Germany approximately between 1951 and 1956.
This box-type camera uses 120 roll film and produces 6 × 9 cm negatives. It is equipped with a Goerz Frontar-Achromat 1:9 lens, a higher-quality optical system than the simple lenses commonly fitted to many box cameras of the period.
It features three focusing ranges —1-2 metres, 2-8 metres and 8 metres to infinity—, a choice of apertures and two built-in brilliant viewfinders for taking photographs in portrait or landscape orientation.
The metal body is covered in black textured material and finished with silver-coloured metal details. The original upper carrying strap and rear red film window are still present.
The camera shows visible signs of age and use, including surface wear, small areas of oxidation and deterioration and cracking to the carrying strap, as shown in the photographs.
Its mechanical and photographic operation has not been tested. It is therefore offered as a collector’s item, decorative object or possible restoration project.
An interesting piece for collectors of vintage cameras, analogue photography enthusiasts and admirers of mid-20th-century industrial design.
The camera is offered exactly in the condition shown in the photographs, without film or additional accessories.
The photographs form an integral part of the description.
The lot will be packaged with great care.
Registered and insured shipping worldwide. Please keep an eye on your delivery at all times via the Track & Trace information on the shipping company's page.
