Get your hands on this serviced June 1968 Seiko Bell-Matic ref. 4005-7000 with rare date-only 27-jewel automatic alarm movement, silver-white dial, new leather strap and 3-month guarantee.
Model History:
Introduced during the 1960s, the Seiko Bell-Matic collection combined an automatic mechanical movement with an independently wound mechanical alarm. Its internal alarm-setting ring, additional pusher and distinctive ringing mechanism made it one of Seiko’s most technically interesting vintage watch families.
The reference 4005-7000 is an uncommon, short-production Bell-Matic variant manufactured between 1968 and 1969. Unlike the more frequently encountered calibre 4006 models with day-date displays, the calibre 4005A provides a date-only calendar. This example was produced in June 1968, placing it among the earliest watches from this reference’s documented production period.

The hands, hour markers and dial display light age-related wear, but remain clean and clearly legible.
The stainless-steel case shows scratches, small marks and general signs of previous use consistent with its age. Its characteristic late-1960s cushion-shaped profile remains clearly defined, and the contrasting brushed and polished surfaces continue to present attractively. The crown and alarm pusher are both present and operate correctly.
The case back displays scratches and normal signs of handling, while the reference number, serial number and other engraved markings remain clearly legible.
A new, scratch-free crystal has been fitted, providing a clear view of the dial. The watch is completed by a new black perforated leather strap, which complements its sporty vintage design.
