Get your hands on this serviced 1970s Universal Genève ladies’ watch ref. 842606 with natural lapis lazuli dial, signed crown and 3-month guarantee.
Model History:
Universal Genève is regarded as one of the most important historic Swiss watch manufacturers, celebrated for its elegant dress watches, complicated chronographs and innovative micro-rotor movements. The company also produced a selection of refined ladies’ watches fitted with the same attention to proportion and movement quality as its larger models.
This unusual example combines a sculpted stainless-steel case with a vivid natural lapis lazuli dial. The varying shades of blue and small mineral inclusions make each stone dial unique. This example has developed a distinctive spiderweb pattern, most likely caused by age-related cracking of the transparent lacquer or protective coating applied over the stone dial. The effect gives the dial a unique vintage character without significantly diminishing its vivid blue appearance.
The watch is powered by Universal Genève’s calibre 42, a compact and slim 17-jewel manual-winding movement.

Condition:
The watch is presented in attractive vintage condition and is distinguished by its vivid blue lapis lazuli dial. The stone displays an appealing mottled appearance with varying shades of deep blue, cobalt and lighter mineral tones.
An extensive spiderweb pattern is visible across the dial. This appears consistent with age-related cracking of the transparent lacquer or protective coating applied over the stone. The dial retains its striking colour and distinctive character. The Universal Genève signature and applied hour markers remain clearly recognisable.
The hands and applied hour markers display age-related tarnishing and surface wear. The sculpted stainless-steel case shows scratches, small marks and normal signs of previous use. Its distinctive curved profile and pointed lugs remain attractive, although the polished surfaces indicate previous refinishing and some of the original edges have softened slightly.
The stainless-steel case back displays scratches and surface wear consistent with age. The reference and serial numbers remain legible. The original signed Universal Genève crown is present.
A clear, scratch-free replacement crystal has been fitted. The watch is fitted with a new black leather strap. The calibre 42 hand-wound movement has been fully serviced and is functioning correctly. A 3-month guarantee is provided on functionality.
I aim to capture the condition of the watch accurately. Please make sure to review the pictures closely before bidding.
The watch has been completely serviced by a professional watchmaker and tested for full functionality. The water resistance of the watch cannot be guaranteed.
