Detailed Description

This lot consists of one original Egger-Bahn 501 narrow gauge starter set, dating from approximately 1963–1964.

This very rare vintage set represents one of Egger-Bahn’s earliest starter sets and is particularly suitable for collectors of original early narrow gauge model railways.

The set consists of:

– One green industrial diesel locomotive with a red chassis – catalogue number 101
– Four grey tipping wagons – catalogue number 201
– One original Egger-Bahn F1 transformer/controller
– One track power connection clip with connecting lead
– Two straight track sections – catalogue number 301 – each approximately 154 mm long
– Six curved track sections – catalogue number 302 – 60° curves with a radius of approximately 140 mm

The locomotive measures approximately 45 mm over the buffers. Each wagon measures approximately 24 mm over the buffers.

The supplied track sections form a complete oval. The set operates on analogue 9 V DC.

The locomotive, all four wagons, track and transformer/controller are in mint, like-new condition.

The set has been tested using the original Egger-Bahn transformer/controller included in this sale. It is fully operational, and the locomotive runs smoothly in both directions.

Packaging

The set comes in its original illustrated Egger-Bahn box with its original moulded inner tray.

The original packaging shows signs of storage wear, including minor scuffs and rubbing. Some boxes may have small cracks or scuffs.
