The M1 Carbine is an American-made light rifle, with fifteen cartridges calibre 0.3" (7.62 × 33 mm) per magazine; a longer magazine has also been created that can contain 30 cartridges. The advantage of the gun is that it is a compact, semi-automatic weapon. It was developed by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Although the M1 Carbine is often called the 'Baby Garand', it is not the same developer. The weapon was developed to replace the Colt 1911A1, but this never happened. The M1 Carbine was and is still a very popular weapon. More M1 Carbines were produced in World War II than the popular M1 Garand.
This specimen is in very nice vintage condition and has beautiful traces of use. It may have been used in WW2, Vietnam and other conflicts. Completely deactivated according to the latest regulations and only intended for decoration and historical value.
