The Dalmore 18 YO was stored in former bourbon barrels made of American white oak for 14 years. It was then given a 3-year maturation period and finally perfected for 1 year in 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso sherry barrels. The Dalmore deer antlers that adorn each of the bottles date back to the late Middle Ages. In 1263, an ancestor of the Mackenzie clan saved the then Scottish King Alexander III from an attack by a raging deer. Out of gratitude, the clan was then granted the privilege of having the Twelve-Ender in its coat of arms.
