Akai AM-M659 Stereo Amplifier The Akai AM-M659 is a vintage stereo integrated amplifier from Akai’s “AM-M” line, produced around 1989-1991. It combines analog amplification with digital control features, aimed at offering robust power output, good fidelity, and flexible input options for home hi-fi systems of its time. The amp has a clean, classic design—black chassis, front-panel controls for tone, balance, source selection, volume, and a “Source Direct” option which bypasses the tone controls for a more pure signal path. To deliver this product properly, it is carefully packed in very strong boxes, thereby wrapped in bubble wrap with lots of padding.
