This vase features a deep, vivid lapis lazuli blue glaze (Ruri Yu), which is known for its beautiful, intense color, achieved by firing a glaze colored with cobalt oxide. The body of the vase is heavily textured with a technique known as "Kushime" (comb marking), creating a surface reminiscent of clustered grapes or gourds. The neck is adorned with two small, spherical "ears" or handles, adding a subtle classical touch to the avant-garde body.
