WINE VARIETIES: Touriga Nacional (60%), Alicante Bouschet (20%) & Syrah (20%).

VINIFICATION
After pre-fermentation maceration at cold temperatures for 24 hours, fermentation took place at a controlled temperature in small 5-ton vats, with treading and delestage. The wine was then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. After bottling, it was aged in bottles before being released onto the market.

TASTING NOTES
Ruby-colored wine, with aromas of small forest fruits, nuances of dark chocolate and evident balsamic notes. In the mouth it reveals the freshness and balance characteristic of the altitude of the S.Mamede mountain range and the elegance that the polished and harmonious tannins give it.

SERVING
It can be served with oven-baked dishes or other dishes that require some cooking complexity.

HISTORY
Born in the 2004 harvest, the Altas Quintas project is installed in the heart of the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, the most unique terroir in Portalegre, an already quite distinct sub-region of the Alentejo. There, above 600 meters of altitude, we find the ideal soil, temperature and humidity conditions to collect the maximum expression, purity and freshness of the grape varieties that we cherish in the vineyard and in the cellar.
“Portalegre with elevation” is our motto. Our purpose? Combining Nature and Man to create differentiating wines, wines that reveal in body and soul the land that saw them born.
