Known as a talisman to ward off evil spirits and attract good fortune, this particular piece is exquisitely detailed, combining traditional Kutani-style overglaze enamel work with bold, sculptural form.

The figure is covered in a deep red glaze resembling dragon scales, accented with radiant gold and multi-colored enamel patterns representing sacred symbols and floral motifs. The luxurious golden mane swirls dramatically, enhancing its powerful presence. A red braided tassel hangs from the lion’s mouth, adding a refined decorative element.
