Chartreuse liqueur was born in 1605, when monks near Paris received an ancient manuscript containing a recipe for a herbal remedy. The Elixir Végétal has a unique flavor thanks to 130 aromatic and medicinal plants. It is drunk diluted in sugared water, as an infusion, or a few drops on sugar.

Since 1084, Carthusian monks have been cultivating herbs for medicinal purposes. In 1737, they created the Elixir Végétal, the basis of the famous Chartreuse liqueur. Today, they also produce herbal teas, in addition to the liqueur.

This wooden box contains the 10cl Elixir and a selection of 60 Chartreuse herbal teas, perfect for cold winter evenings.
