Περιγραφή από τον πωλητή

Good condition.

Description:
This is a refined Japanese black lacquer pedestal bowl with lid, decorated in elegant gold maki-e. The shape follows the traditional takatsuki (高杯) form, featuring a shallow bowl raised on a graceful stem. The glossy black lacquer surface creates a deep, reflective finish that highlights the delicate decoration.

Across both the lid and the pedestal base, fine plum blossom (梅) motifs are painted in gold. The branches are drawn in slender, flowing lines, while the blossoms appear as small, soft gold silhouettes. This motif is one of the most beloved themes in Japanese art, symbolizing early spring, hope, and quiet elegance. The gold details stand out beautifully against the mirror-black lacquer, giving the piece a calm, balanced aesthetic.

The lid is slightly domed with a small central knob. When removed, it reveals a smooth, dark interior, making the bowl suitable for serving wagashi (Japanese sweets) or for use in tea ceremony settings. It also functions well as a display piece due to its graceful silhouette and refined decoration.
