Charity Football Auction (Stiftung KinderHerz)

All proceeds from this auction will go to Stiftung KinderHerz Roughly one out of every 100 children born has a heart defect, the most commonly occurring organ disease among all new-borns. Approximately 1.3 Million babies are born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) every year worldwide. This is a shocking number and therefore is worthy of a call for action! Seventy percent of conflicted children would die without treatment and more than 25 percent of these children affected by CHD need open heart surgery. This is why the children and their families suffering from heart disease are the focus of our actions at Stiftung KinderHerz. To guarantee the patient’s quality of care in accordance with current medical opportunities, specialized pediatric cardiac centers are required. Pediatric cardiac surgery and cardiology has undergone outstanding development in the last 20 years especially in Germany. Given tight budgets this must also be guaranteed for coming years. German pediatric cardiac centers can continue to make an important contribution to developing innovative medical standards worldwide. Stiftung KinderHerz is working closely with almost 20 pediatric cardiac centers in Germany. Our partners and cooperation spread all over the country and beyond. An important aspect of our work is to connect experts and medical centers throughout Germany to ensure the transfer and exchange of knowledge. In that way the results, achieved in certain fields of pediatric cardiology and also in related disciplines, will have the greatest effect and will lead to the quickest success to help children all over the world. The Stiftung KinderHerz Innovation-Award NRW is a major step to promote this process. In order to adapt to global challenges and to widen our focus, the Stiftung KinderHerz International was founded to extend these aims and to connect research teams and clinics. We plan to intensify these collaborations in the next few years. Our vision is to achieve the best care for all children with heart conditions. Every child with a congenital or acquired heart defect should be able to lead a care-free life!
