Traditional style auctions online

Catawiki is a unique blend of buying online and going to a live auction. New auctions start every Friday and usually run for a week or two in order to give people from all over the world a chance to check out the objects and place their bids. Objects are arranged into categories to make browsing easier. And our experts usually provide an estimate of an object’s value before it goes to sale. We believe that this combines all the benefits and reputability of a traditional auction house with the convenience and ease of an online platform.

Safe payments

Catawiki offers a unique payment method to protect both buyers and sellers. When a buyer wins an object, they must pay the purchase price and shipping costs within 3 working days. The seller is then informed that the object can be shipped or made available for pickup. This protects sellers from shipping objects that haven’t been paid for. Additionally, this keeps the transactions trustworthy as the buyer and seller are not in contact until after payment is received. After the object is sent to the buyer the seller will receive payment, minus the seller success fee. The seller success fee goes toward marketing objects to buyers around the world and increasing demand so sellers can get a good price.

Free listings

It’s completely free to offer up as many objects as you like for auction. There’s no limit, and no cost. You only pay the seller success fee when your object is sold. In the unlikely event that your object does not sell first time, you don’t have to pay anything, and it’s free to offer it up for auction again.
