A limited edition Leo Tolstoy 1868
Montblanc Leo Tolstoy Writers Edition, 1868 fountain pen (Lim. Ed.) .
[MB-WREDLT68]
For those who seek true luxury there is the Montblanc Leo Tolstoy Writers Edition 1868 fountain pen: the 1868 Edition (and as such it is produced in an equal number thereof) is named after the year in which Tolstoy's book "War and Peace" appeared. This is an epic work that takes place during the Napoleonic wars.
The details and holder are made of a subtly hammered gold and a beautiful, translucent blue Cap with guilloche pattern, reminiscent of the favourite designs of Imperial Russia. The end of the holder is made of wood and is reminiscent of the trees of the Yasnaya Polyana, Tolstoy's estate, in whose shadow Tolstoy wanted to be buried. A Malachite gemstone has been affixed to the top of the pen. This is a rare and intense green stone, which refers to the "green stick", a legend as told by Tolstoy's brother Nikolai. A magic formula was engraved on the green stick, with which the whole world could be made happy, a theme that has always influenced Tolstoy.
In addition to the signature of the author, his portrait is also displayed on the special 18 carat gold nib.
The Montblanc Writers Edition pens are sought after by connoisseurs and collectors around the world. The tooling, that is specially developed for the production of each Montblanc Limited Writers Edition, is destroyed at the end of each production run, so that it is not possible to manufacture any more items.
The name Montblanc is associated with valuable gifts and mementos: top class and exceptional and traditional craftsmanship.
