The Piatti scooter was the creation of a Belgian engineer, Vincent Piatti, who was working as a designer for auxiliary bicycle engines. Frame no.: 40889 Engine no.: 10889 Without documents It will be provided with private sales statement and Catawiki sales invoice. New tyres Restored brakes The original exhaust has been cleaned and painted. Restored carburettor With a 2-stroke engine. Displacement: 125 cc. Monocoque frame chassis, made of tin, and shaped as a single tubular skeleton which houses the engine. The wheels are cantilevered and interchangeable. Leaf spring front suspension; the rear one is made up of the engine-gearbox oscillating block. The Piatti scooter was manufactured in UK and in Belgium under license during the years 1948-1957. It was set aside and left unused for over 20 years. Provenance: from a private collection. The body and the mechanical parts were fully restored in 2019. The engine has been completely restored and brought to its original condition. The bodywork was sandblasted and repainted. The scooter runs, drives and smoothly shifts. Located in Alessandria, Northern Italy.
