The Piatti scooter was the creation of a Belgian engineer, Vincent Piatti, who was working as a designer for auxiliary bicycle engines. Monocoque frame chassis, made of tin, and shaped as a single tubular skeleton which houses the engine. The wheels are cantilevered and interchangeable. Leaf spring front suspension; the rear one is made up of the engine-gearbox oscillating block. The Piatti scooter was manufactured in UK and in Belgium under license during the years 1948-1957. It was set aside and left unused for over 20 years. Provenance: from a private collection. The body and the mechanical parts were fully restored in 2019. The engine has been completely restored and brought to its original condition. The bodywork was sandblasted and repainted. The scooter runs, drives and smoothly shifts.
