Madrid, Imprenta de Pedro Marin, 1780, 15 x 21, portrait drawn and engraved by Manuel Salvador Carmona, 4 sheets, 373 pages. 1 plate, 1 fold-out map of the Bay of Santander, engraved in the text. Very good condition, clean paper and wide margins. Very well preserved parchment binding. Name of the previous owner on the back cover white paper (Palau: ‘Work worthy of consulting for its historical and archaeological information about Spain.’ Important biography of the author of the Historia eclesiástica de España, which chronologically compiles the life and facts of the scholarly Augustinian professor, followed by information about his works, grouped by subjects, and the Relación de los viajes, from 1731 to 1772, which occupies the central body of the book. In the appendix, eulogies and letters from different authors celebrating the fame of the author.

In excellent condition, bound on parchment.
The photographs are an important part of the description.
