The NS locomotive Series 1200 is an electric locomotive that was deployed by the Dutch Railways between 1952 and 1998 and by ACTS Nederland BV as from 1999 to 2009, and as from 2010 until 2015 by EETC.
The 25 locomotives of the series 1200 were ordered in 1949 and delivered between 1951-1953. Just like the other locomotives during this period, they were delivered in turquoise livery, but the numbers 1215-1225 were reddish-brown, the livery in which the new diesel locomotives were deployed in during the 1950s.
