T. Rex – The Slider
The Slider is the third music album by the British glam rock band T. Rex. It was released on July 23, 1972 at the height of its success.
Despite numerous ballads and slow rock tracks, the compact, dynamic and clear sound and the accentuation of the drums make the album harder than the last LP and seem like it was all of a piece.
In Great Britain the LP reached number 4, in Germany number 7 in the album charts and in the USA it was the greatest commercial success for the group with number 17 in the Billboard album charts.
The Slider contains the two British number 1 hits Telegram Sam and Metal Guru, the latter also number 1 in Germany.
