Offered a lovely old antiques and colorful work from 1919 by an esteemed artist.
Work with violets like flowers painted on a panel and a panel size of 30x25 cm.
There is also the back story about the artist and for whom he has made.
He also signed the back with a small self-portrait
Drawing particularly so in a nice matching frame
The whole is the age in good condition

Biography: Willy van Schoonhoven van Beurden

Alexander William Francis Emile van Schoonhoven van Beurden was born October 28, 1883 born in Roermond. He was a pupil of Robert Graafland and moved in 1905 from Limburg to Amsterdam to be trained at the National School for art teacher. His teachers in the capital were Emanuel van Beever and Jan Toorop. He drew and painted in impressionist and luminist like landscapes, flowers, figures (farmer types) and cityscapes. He was also a graphic artist (etchings and woodcuts). Until his retirement in 1947 he was drawing and art history teacher at the Amsterdam Lyceum. In the capital, he was a member of St. Luke and the Independents. He died July 13, 1963 in Zuidlaren.
