A beautiful pair of Art Deco bookends from 1931.
Made in the "Plateelbakkerij Schoonhoven" by Godefridus Boonekamp.
Two strong men (titans?) are depicted in the typical style of the late 20s
and early 30s.
The bookends are in very good condition. Painting and gloss are
perfect, like new.
There are a few production-related glaze defects that add to the charm of the object.
After all, it is 90 years old.
A figure has a small, white chip at the front, which can be made invisible with a grey felt-tip pen.
I haven't changed anything about the bookends because I think they're perfect.
Both bookends are marketed with the logo "Universiteit voor Zelfstudie"
