Religion - Quantity: 2 - Hand coloured illustrations, Limited edition, Numbered edition, With slipcase - Book

The Salterio de Ingeborg is a late 12th century illuminated psalter now housed in the Musée Condé of Chantilly, France. It is one of the most significant surviving examples of early Gothic painting.
This psalter or book of psalms was created about 1195 in northern France for Ingeborg of Denmark, Queen of France and wife of King Philip II of France. It is unknown who commissioned the Psalter, but it may have been commissioned by either Étienne de Tournai or Eleanor of Vernandois, Countess of Beaumont-sur-Oise.
In total 400 pages, of which 51 contain rich full-page miniatures and with great profusion of gold leaf, as well as numerous and splendid initials. The text is written in an early Gothic minuscule. It is also regarded as the forerunner of the books of hours.
Limited edition of 500 copies, of which 120 were for Spain, this is number 54, including the facsimile made in 1999 by Adeva, bound especially in embossed double-face leather, size 22 x 31.5 cm.
Study book, with the translation of the original text by Florens Deuchler. Size 21 x 31 cm, 160 pages. Published by Ars Millenii in 2011.
Both books come in a slipcase, dust jacket type, expressly made for this particular copy in the original leather, same as the study book, size 20.5 x 32.2 x 8 cm.
