Armand-Charles de La Porte de La Meilleraye (1632-1713), duc de Mazarin.
Constitution of an annuity of 5,000 pounds per year for the benefit of the Duchess of Estrées dated 1666.
7 quarto pages, on skin (parchment).
Interesting handwritten document that shows the links already existing between the Mazarins and the Entrées. The Duchess of Estrées was Catherine de Lauzières-Thémine at the time, wife of the second Duke of Estrées.
The grandson of the Duchess, in 1707 the 4th Duke of Estrées would marry Diane-Adelaïde Mancini-Mazarin, niece through alliance to the Duke of Mazarin (the wife of the Duke of Mazarin being Hortense Mancini, sister of Philippe Mancini, the father of Diane-Adelaïde).
Good overall condition despite a fragment missing in the margin, very readable writing, nice document concerning two great French aristocratic families.
