The coin has retained slight remnants of its shine. With some adjustment scratches. Superb grey medal patina. Superb provenance: private collection of Dr Slawson, later in the private collection of Philippe Bouchet. Dr. Donald Slawson has collected data on constitutional ecus. Philippe Bouchet and Patrick Guillard have used this remarkable database to create the book "Les écus constitutionnels" which lists the varieties, variants and mints for constitutional ecus. This 6 pound ecu is pictured on page 247 - Photo reference A4 and R1. A very rare 6 pound ecu from the Nantes mint, highly prized by collectors.
