HMS Prince (ook bekend als HMS Royal Prince) was een 100-gun linieschip van de Royal Navy. Gebouwd door meester-timmerman Phineas Pett II in Deptford Dockyard en te water gelaten in 1670, was haar achtersteven in het bijzonder versierd met verguld houtsnijwerk.

Tijdens de Derde Engels-Nederlandse Oorlog diende zij als vlaggenschip van de toekomstige koning James II, toen hertog van York en Lord High Admiral. Tijdens de Slag bij Solebay (1672) bevond zij zich in het centrum van de slaglinie van de Engelse vloot toen zij werd aangevallen door het Nederlandse centrum onder bevel van Luitenant-admiraal Michiel de Ruyter. De Prins wordt zwaar beschadigd en de kapitein wordt aan boord gedood. 

HMS Prince werd in 1692 in Chatham Dockyard herbouwd en omgedoopt tot HMS Royal William. 
Ze werd een tweede maal herbouwd door John Naish in Portsmouth Dockyard vanaf 1714, en te water gelaten op 3 september 1719. Ze keerde terug naar het droogdok en kwam pas weer in dienst toen ze in 1756 werd teruggebracht tot een schip van de tweede rang met 84 kanonnen. In 1760 was de Royal William het vlaggenschip van admiraal Boscawen toen hij het bevel over de vloot in de baai van Quiberon op zich nam. Na een zware storm werd hij echter gedwongen zijn vlag te verplaatsen naar HMS Namur. Tijdens de overval op Belle-Île-en-Mer in 1761 werd hij met verschillende andere schepen losgemaakt om voor de kust van Brest te varen om een eventuele Franse tegenaanval vanuit die haven te voorkomen.

De Zevenjarige Oorlog was het laatste conflict waarin de Koninklijke Willem een actieve rol speelde. Ze werd in 1813 ontmanteld.
