De voorstelling bestaat uit het 52e station 'Ishibe' waar diverse gasten verblijven in een herberg langs het water in een natuurrijk gebied met meerdere bomen.
Utagawa Hiroshige ook bekend als Ando Hiroshige was een Japanse kunstenaar en maakte ukiyo-e. Hij wordt gezien als de laatste grote meester in deze kunstvorm. Hiroshige is het meest bekende vanwege zijn landschap afbeeldingen, zoals 'Pictures of the Famous Places on the Fifty-three Stations. Hiroshige heeft grote invloed gehad op onder andere de Franse impressionisten.
