William Wegman - Shore. 1999 (hand signed)

William Wegman, Museum quality fine art pigment print "Shore. 1999", Printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Matte paper Hand signed by William Wegman verso. Condition: Mint Not removed from plastic cover to prevent dirt or fingerprints. “Shore was photographed with the Polaroid 20 x 24 camera using two elements: set paper and Weimaraners. There are two shades of blue set paper and two Weimaraners—Chip, whose ear I recognize, and his son Bobbin. At the time, I was interested in making illusions with the simplest means possible. The torn set paper seemed to suggest an ocean shore; the curve of the paper, a breaking wave. The dogs lay down facing into the paper, and the camera transformed them into a landscape. I like to think that the dogs are enjoying the view, basking in the warmth of the studio lights.” – William Wegman Many of these pictures have gone around the world and have become photographic icons. They have been shown in many museums and are sought after by collectors. William Wegman is one of the most important photographers together with Cindy Sherman, Nan Goldin, Diane Arbus, Alec Soth, Martin Parr, Larry Clark, Larry Sultan, Wolfgang Tillmans, Stuart Franklin, Ryan McGinley, Elliott Erwitt, Steve McCurry and many more.
