Exceptional "Dogon - DyoDyonume mask; Topped horns, ears and  a small ""altar"" cavity where libatory residues remain. The healer mask evolves in a satirical pantomime, as does the hunter mask, evoking the legend that the first ancestor tried to cure the Walu antelope before it died. Marcel Griaule counted no less than 78 types of Dogon masks during his eld investigations. This piece, with its stylized features, is characteristic of Dogon creations.
