Let's all reflect for a moment on the iMac G4’s 20th anniversary. // THE GREATEST MAC EVER MADE – 20 YEARS LATER 2002 – Twenty Years ago, Apple introduced the iMac G4*, and the company again turned the market on its head. And in doing so, it created the greatest Mac it has ever made. The design was truly unique – and Apple got the ergonomics right! The best part of the iMac’s design was the "cantilevered metal arm" that held the LCD**. Last-but-not-least: the Tournesol launched the digital hub. * The iMac G4 is also know as the "Tournesol", "Sunflower" or "iLamp". ** the Tournesol was the first desktop Mac to use a flat-panel LCD (Liquid-Crystal Display). To this day, the iMac G4 stands out in a mundane world of desktop computers—current Macs included (even Apple’s designs nowadays are relatively "safe" compared to the iMac G4). The iLamp was quirky, fun, and functional, but more importantly, the design proved that Apple’s success with the original iMac wasn’t a fluke. // TAKE A CHANCE ON ME! Hardware-wise, all my sold computers are completely disassembled, cleaned – and, if necessary, repaired – in order to extend their lifespan. See pictures. // ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST, BATTERY ACID & THERMAL PASTE – DUST: the inside of a 20-year-old computer looks the same as "the collection-container of a vacuum cleaner" (read: a dust bunny). And as you know "dust" can ruin your electronics; – LEAKS: 20-year-old batteries will someday leak, causing irreversible damage to the computer. So, if "time and date" are not displayed correctly, you sadly will know what time it is; – HEAT: the biggest killer of electronics is heat. Whenever opening an old Mac (e.g. for replacing de pram battery), one must redo the CPU & GPU thermal paste. I'd hate to see a great machine like the iMac G4 killed needlessly (because the seller is unknowledgeable). Long-Story Short. Computers from other vendors may look the same on the outside. I can guarantee you that the inside is very different! So if you want to enjoy your investment for as long as possible, choosing "wisely" is advisable. // DEEP-CLEANED – Usually the ventilation holes and the fan, are filthy ... and the inside of the bulb is "dusty and dirty" (which does not benefit the operation). – Usually a white Computer, Keyboard and Mouse are Yellowed. This iMac is still Ice-White, which is highly exceptional. // GERM-FREE PRO KEYBOARD & MOUSE The "iMac" comes with the accompanying RARE Apple "Pro" keyboard (M7803) and AppleMightyMouse (model A1152). FYI: some pictures mistakenly show a different mouse – and keyboard. I was cleaning the right ones at the moment of picturing. Check de detailled pictures to be sure were you're bidding on. >> Important to know – The "Apple Pro Keyboard (M7803)" has an off-white color cast. This discoloration is normal with this type of keyboard (= aging by UV-light). The mouse and the iMac itself are "whiter" in color. See detailled pictures; Please don't bid on this item if vintage off-white coloring bothers you. The Apple keyboard and MightyMouse alone are already worth a fortune on auction websites. The keyboard is completely disassembled and cleaned professionally (see pictures). It looks brand-new! In my opinion it is my responsibility (as a seller) to provide a Germ-Free keyboard (a 2018 study found that 96% of the keyboards were contaminated with bacteria). So, I think we can agree that nobody wants a nasty, infected keyboard. // HARDWARE & SOFTWARE It was Steve's vision to intertwine hardware and software. Retro-computing without software is therefore – in my opinion – "meaningless". Therefore, all my macs are packed with "tons of pre-installed software of yesteryear", ready to use – and to give you a glimp of Apple's history. This 100% working and technically checked “Vintage” bundle comes with “working software”. E.g. Adobe Creative Suite 2 (including the applications: "Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign"), Apple Software (Keynote, Pages, iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband, etc) – and Office Suite for MAC X (including the applications: "Word, PowerPoint, Excel"). Twenty Years Ago "Steve Jobs" slashed a large X on the wall and smiled. Mac OS X introduced concepts like the Dock and Terminal – and created the underpinnings not only for the future of the Mac, but also for the iPhone, iPad, and even the Apple Watch. Disclaimer: The computer only includes software* that is classified as "abandonware" (= from the Public Domain, distributed over the internet and available freely, easily and readily). The software is supplied "free of charge" as a free service (for the retro-computing fan). Both the applications and the operating system are installed in ENGLISH. // UPGRADED RAM MEMORY – The standard RAM of "256 MB" is doubled to "512 MB", to really use this machine to its full potential*, and speed up "rendering" within the graphic ADOBE programs from the Creative Suite. As a result all applications launch very fast. * Otherwise running Tiger (OSX 10.4) and software like the Adobe Creative Suite is impossible. // WHAT IS TOURNESOL? It was originally known as "the New iMac". Apple advertised the iMac G4 as having the ADJUSTABILITY of a desk lamp, and was nicknamed the "iLamp". It was also known as the "Sunflower" (or "Tournesol" in French). The so-called "Tournesol" was - as we are used to from Apple - an innovative machine. Lightweight and also smaller than its predecessors and the competition. The processing speed and RAM capacity was impressive. Many users were therefore impressed in 2002. The so-called BULB has achieved a CULT STATUS because of its "futuristic appearance". Although the machine is 100% functional, it can also be displayed as an "eye-catcher and showpiece". Note: one of the speakers has a little dent … this doesn't affect the operation! See picture. – tons of pre-installed software, including value packs; – digital files on the hard drive, of the legendary “Apple Think Different” campaign of time-honored visionaries like the Dalai Lama, John Lennon & Yoko, Muhammad Ali, Einstein, Picasso, etc. See pictures. FYI: The RARE Apple Pro/ Herman Kardon Speakers***, they alone are worth the bid! // DID YOU KNOW? The "i" in "iMac" stands for "internet", "individual", "instruct", "inform" and "inspire". // RETRO COMPUTING – EXPECTATIONS Please have realistic expectations. These are collectables (not modern machines). There are "normal signs of use" – e.g. tiny stains and scratches – (which are to be expected with a device of this age). View the numerous images to make your own judgment! The numerous images are part of the meticulous description. PS/ some tiny scratches (and other ware-out) are difficult to capture on picture (but they are there … thus: again please have realistic expectations!). – the TFT screen has some wearing (which are not noticeable while using the iMac). You can compare this kind of scratches with daily-used-glasses. 

– the TFT screen has a light blue 1 px vertical line (approximately 1/3 screen height). This line is not disturbing while working. PS/ this is a common issue on 20-years TFT's. See pictures.
 As these are "vintage items", they are being sold as. Normal signs of use and wear. But as an experienced connoisseur I can guarantee that these items are in VERY GOOD condition (always keeping in mind their age). Last-but-not-least: please have realistic expectations about speed and performance regarding this 20 years old computer. – There are NO cracks in the plastics (= rare). – the computer works as it should (extensively tested!). Also the CD-player works (= unique!)
. Note: you need compatible media. – The internal and external speakers sounds heavenly. – LCD-screen. The colors are "vivid"and there are "no" dead pixels!
