Born and raised in the metropolis of São Paulo, during the 1980s, Daniel Jonez experienced from within the aspirations and consequences of the punk youth, which sprang up on the urban scene and discovered with impetus what it meant to question, point out and derange the old order. This youth, which flourished in the period of post-political repression, came willing to transgress passivity, always with much controversy and audacity. Thus, Daniel Jonez moved between streets, alleys and skyscrapers, developing his trait and his voice. He was part of the “Pixos” movement in the most recent years of his youth, evolving into collective wall paintings. And luckily for the general, Daniel Jonez never suppressed his artistic nature, even when he managed to study Social Sciences, taking a giant step in the evolution of his critical persona.
