Mourlot Frères was commissioned to produce exhibition posters for French museums, for example in 1930 for the retrospective of Eugène Delacroix in the Louvre, in 1932 for an exhibition by Édouard Manet in the Musée de l'Orangerie and in 1934 for Honoré Daumier's work in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. Modern artists were among the artists who sought out Mourlot's workshop to collaborate on the lithographic field such as Georges Braque, Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Jean Dubuffet, Jean Fautrier, Giovanni Giacometti, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso.
