Charming kazari’dana 飾り棚 (display shelf) designed with a staggered étagère, a pair of sliding doors, a pair of hinged doors and three stacked small drawers. It features a veneer of various stunning types of maple wood, finished in a pleasing soft brown tone with a subtle sheen. The sides and top are adorned with spalted maple veneer, known for its distinctive black line patterns, thus also known as ‘black line maple’, while the doors and drawer fronts are crafted from the intricately patterned maple burl wood. The panels of the sliding doors are made of indigenous kiri (paulownia) wood, with its nice contrasting straight vertical lines. The drawers equipped with elegant bronze ‘hirute’-shaped bail handles Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926). Dimensions: Height 71.3 cm, Width 90.5 cm, Depth 29.6 cm. In a very good condition with smooth running drawers and doors. Fully restored, cleaned and waxed in Japan. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
