Butz - Choquin - Origine - Pipe - briar bone nickel methacrylate

Pipe Butz-Choquin a Metz ‘Origine’ 1. Made in St. Claude France Original "commemorative" release dating back to the 1970's (serie 1) and the first they made dates back to 1858! An exact copy of the oldest pipe in the collection, which made its inventor, Mr. Choquin famous in 1858. It embodies all the charm and elegance of the 19th century. Its aged briar enhanced by a very fine middle section, formed from a hollowed out albatross bone gives a mild and light smoke. (with the later serie 2 the bone was replaced by plastic) Butz-Choquin did a masterful job here. It features a perfectly formed Acorn bowl, about a Group 4 or 5 with extra thick walls and a healthy sized chamber. The bowl tapers down to a point at the heel, the signature look of the Acorn while to the rear a pronounced transition to a sturdy round shank adorned with a lovely nickel mount that holds a long Albatross bone shank with Spigot fitment and to the rear more with a fancy lucite fishtail stem. Barely smoked. No teeth marks, no chips. The pictures form an important part of the description
