Byōbu folding screen - Paper, Lacquer, Wood - Japan
Beautiful, tall six-panel byôbu 屏風 (folding screen) fully adorned with shiny faux-gold leaf paper showcasing a faint square pattern.
In Japan such tranquil and even screens are often used as a background for example vases with ikebana arrangements or other decorative or ceremonial objects.
Encased in a black lacquered wooden frame.
Period: Japan – Mid-/Late-Shôwa period (Mid-/Late-20th century).
Dimensions:
Total width: 377.6 cm (2 x 64.2 cm and 4 x 62.3 cm); Height 173.3 cm.
It is in very good condition with minimal traces of wear conform age and old restorations. Please take a close look at the photos for a clear condition reference.
This room divider is very suitable to be easily mounted flat on a wall and presented as one piece of art.
