Danish School (XIX) - Boys playing Cards

Danish School, Probably made by Hans Christian Koefoed (1849-1921). Koefoed followed a training as a figure painter in Copenhagen from 1869 onwards. He was influenced by the figure style and color of Frederik Vermehren and Carl Bloch. Koefoed belonged to the circle around Laurits Tuxen, but in the 1870s, he did not have the opportunity, like some of his comrades, to study abroad. The modern breakthrough had already occurred when Koefoed applied a few years later to the school of Bonnat, and he failed to break away from the traditional form of expression like his peers. Koefoed then painted portraits and landscapes on Bornholm, near Lynæs, and on the Nivå Plain. Shipping method/packaging; Well packed and sent via DPD.
