Before joining Catawiki, Carmen spent years working with traditional Spanish auction houses and leading cultural institutions. As both a researcher and a university lecturer, she’s developed a sharp eye for detail, which she now applies to assessing provenance, condition and artistic merit. Over the years, she’s handled hundreds of paintings including works by masters like Velázquez, Murillo and Zurbarán.
