Beautiful and rare art deco terracotta sculpture - "The lizard" - from Zsigmond Kisfaludi Strobl (1884-1975), by a two-time Kossuth Prize winner, world-famous and recognized Hungarian sculptor.
The sculpture depicts a naked lady with towel, while a curious little lizard appears. The sculpture was created in 1921.
The life-size marble version of Zsigmond Strobl's beautiful sculpture by Kisfaludi is located in the square in front of the Anna Grand Hotel, where the famous Anna balls are held.
The white marble female nude in a beautiful setting stands on top of a circular pool of water.

His delicate, sensuous nudes, his profoundly characterful portraits and his brilliantly composed, moving sculptural groups place him among the best of his time.
The permanent exhibition of his rich legacy opened in 1976 in the Göcseji Museum.
In very nice condition - from 1921 (the art deco period) with minor scratches. No chips/cracks or restoration.
The artist's signature is on the base.
