Artist: Taniguchi Aizan 谷口靄山(1816-1899), a famous Japanese literati painter in the 19th century, specializing in landscape painting and flower-and-bird painting. In 1882 he won the Bronze Prize at the Kyoto Exposition, and in 1896 he founded the Nanga Association with Tanomura Chokunyu and Tomioka Tessai. The British Museum has one of his landscape paintings from 1870.
