A scenic, tall two-panel byôbu 屏風 (folding screen) featuring a painting on shiny golden silk depicting a sunrise above an expansive ocean with a frothy wave in the foreground. Sealed twice in the lower left corner. With a black lacquered frame fitted with protective hardware. Period: Japan - Taishô period (1912-1926). Dimensions: Total width 186.2 cm (2 x 93.1 cm), Height 172.3 cm. The screen is in a very good condition with minimal wear at the back conform age. Please look at the photos for a condition reference. The folding screen is ideal for mounting flat on a wall and presenting as a single work of art. When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity. Due to the fragility of this piece, a custom-made wooden crate will be made for transport. As a result, please be aware that this might extend the handling time.
