Antieke scheepslog in originele kist met bijbehoren. Het merk is Thomas Walker, Ëxcelsior"IV Patent Log.  in het deksel zit de originele handleiding geplakt en verder zit erin dekist een mapje met informatie en tabellen, kopieën gemaakt van originelen behorende bij die log.De log zelf heeft een analoge emaille onbeschadigde wijzerplaat met gegevens van de maker etc. en de log  werkt uitstekend. In het glaasje zit een rechte barst over de gehele diameter en is nauwelijks zichtbaar. Voor de rest van de inhoud van de kist en de kist, zie de foto''s.
Een scheepslog als deze werd vroeger gebruikt om de snelheid en de afgelegde route te berekenen en om zodoende te bepalen in relatie tot de waarnemingen met de sextant en het kompas,  waar het schip zich bevond .
