ROLLING STONES Special Coupling Single Digest (Mega Rare 1973 Japanese promotional-only 10-track LP issued for the cancelled Japan tour, housed in a unique black & white Jagger/Taylor flipback picture sleeve with tracklist & tour dates printed on the reverse. The delicate sleeve is graded Very Good with an occasional crease from ring wear, age related wear, The vinyl is clean and probably one of the last in NM with a few light scratches in the unplayed areas (wonderful) which do not affect the playing. ★★ Promo - This item is a Promotional Item - Promos or ‘advance’ pressings differ to final or commercial releases, and are often unique. Typically sent to record stores, radio stations and DJs to market the artist, music, or both. ★★ For decades, the Rolling Stones were not allowed to play in Japan, even though they were the biggest band in the world. Their status as superstars counted for nothing in the eyes of the Japanese authorities, who considered the band to be a bad influence on the population. The Stones found out about this when they were planning a concert in Japan on 27 January 1973, but visa problems thwarted their plans, as Mick Jagger had previously been convicted of drug use. The concerts in Asia were part of their Stones Touring Party, which they wanted to continue in Australia and Hawaii. ★★★★ Special feature: King Records, the distributor in Japan, had already released a compilation LP in Japan with the planned tour dates on the back of the special cover.
