Original woodblock reprint by Suzuki Haranobu (1724-1770) - "Raijin (Raiden), the Thunder God, dropping drumstick and bearing love-letter to courtesan" - Japan - ca. 1900 Raijin (Raiden), the Thunder God, dropping drumstick and bearing love-letter to courtesan, she and young attendant (kamuro) both holding hands over ears on veranda. Original was about 1767–68 (Meiwa 4–5) Signed "Suzuki Harunobu ga" On a Japanese washi paper, in reasonable condition. Colors in fair condition, a bit faded. Discoloration due to former framing along margins. Professionally enhanced thin area at top. Size is 44.2x 9.0cm (hashiri-bon).
