Artist: Fujimoto Tesseki藤本鉄石 (1816-1863), a famous Japanese painter and samurai in the 19th century, broke away from the local regime in 1840 and traveled throughout Japan. He was good at landscape painting and flower-and-bird painting. In 1863, he became a member of the resistance against the local warlords and respected the Japanese imperial system. He was killed in battle in 1863.
In 1868, Japan was transformed from a country divided by local warlords into a monarchy under the unified control of the emperor.
Collection stamp on the first page:帰雲山房清賞、帰雲山房書画
The last calligraphic inscription was written by the artist Watanabe Koka渡辺小華 (1835-1887) and recorded in 1877.
Slightly worn.
