Caperdonich 25 years old - Small Batch Release - Original bottling - 700ml

25-year-old release of unpeated single malt from the defunct Caperdonich distillery as part of the Secret Speyside Collection series. The golden whiskey, bottled at 48% alcohol, is intended to present the little-known atmosphere of the Scottish region. Aged in oak barrels, this fruity and sweet malt combines spicy orange, poached pear and rich vanilla with herbal and floral accents and a smooth finish. The Secret Speyside Collection, a collection of fifteen rare whiskeys from lesser-known Speyside distilleries, turned out to be a hit. The aim of launching this curated collection of whiskeys was to give Scotch single malt enthusiasts the opportunity to not only sample some of the rarest liquids from the Speyside region, but also find out what makes this rich area of Scotland so special. The Secret Speyside Collection offers unique and unforgettable experiences and the 25-year-old from Caperdoni is a great addition to the range. The new expression is part of three peated and three unpeated offerings. A real treat for fans of the history of Scottish distillation - the last single malt in Caperdonich was distilled in 2002 and since then the brewery has remained closed. Caperdonich means "secret well" in Gaelic. The distillery was established as the second distillery of the Glen Grant brand, which was to support the main plant during the whiskey boom. In 1965, the distillery was renovated by new owners. The name of the distillery had to be legally changed in 1967, because since 1902 there were regulations prohibiting distilleries from sharing names. This is how the Caperdonich distillery was born. Since then, the whiskey has ceased to be a copy of Glen Grants and has begun to clarify its own character. The golden alcohol began to be used in Chivas Regal and Passport blends. As a result, there are very few drams left in barrels, aging as single malts. Pernod Richard bought Caperdonich in 2000 and closed the distillery for a second time in 2002. The buildings were unfortunately demolished in 2011. Caperdonich produced an elegant and floral whiskey that was revived as part of the Secret Speyside Collection. This single malt whiskey from the Caperdonich distillery, full of fruity accents, delights with its herbal profile and sweet, long finish. Aroma: accents of pears and apples straight from the tree, honey, herbs and light flowers Taste: dried grass, even more fruit and honey, waves of marzipan and honey Finish: long, sweet and fruity
