This edition, which includes 20,000 bottles, is the first bottling carried out at the Aiguenoire site. In fact, due to regulatory constraints, the distillery of the Chartreux fathers, established in Voiron since 1936, had to move to a new, safer site. The choice fell on Aiguenoire, in Entre-deux-Giers, a symbolic place since it hosted the monastery's agricultural activities from 1618 to 1791. Opened on 30 August 2018, the new distillery has been based since 4 September 2020. bottling line. This edition therefore marks the beginning of a new era for Chartreuse, which since 1605 has seen seven different production sites. If the places change, the recipe remains the same, a nectar born from the maceration and distillation of more than 130 plants, bark and spices, aged for a long time in oak barrels. This inimitable green liqueur has a complex nose that mixes pepper, cloves and herbaceous notes followed by a fresh mouth, with memories of citrus and menthol, which stretch into beautiful bitters.
