Giancarlo Vaccarezza, class 1943, from Viareggio, starts his journey as an artist in 1959 by attending the academy in Carrara. And then he travels, moves, makes friends with other artists (from Krimer, to Migneco, Brindisi, and Cassinari just to mention his first friends) and art critics such as Nocentini, De Grada, Valsecchi, Micieli, Paloscia. He moves: he goes to France first, he exhibits in Provence, then we can find him in Milan in the seventies, like many other painters from Viareggio who want to get out of Viani's influence. Then the great experience, also didactic, inside the asylums that lead him to some exhibitions-denunciation and paintings of rare emotional intensity. In 1980 he makes exhibitions at the Rapuano gallery which brings him in Germany as well. And then there he is in England and then again involved in many exhibitions in Tuscany. In his paintings there is always space for thought, to discover the characters.
