Hanhart Kriegsmarine - Stopp-Uhr (stopwatch) 1935 / 1945).

A Hanhart Kriegs-Marine Stopwatch, also called a Torpedo/Artillery-stoppuhr. This kind of stopwatch was mostly used on torpedo boat hunters and U-Boats to calculate the distance that a torpedo had travelled before it detonated or for the ship's artillery firing the time between firing and impact to measure the distance. By doing this they could adjust the time setting of the next torpedoes/grenades. This is a simple model, there were models with a turn-around time of 10 seconds and with tachymeter functions. This is one with double counting device: the outer counter of 30 sec. (with the black digits), this counts with 1/10th sec. and the small seconds counts to 15 minutes. The inner counter (with the red digits) continues until 60 sec. It is in excellent condition and runs and adjusts well. The glass has some signs of wear, it has been used which can be seen by the case. But the dial is in fairly good condition. On the back, it has a Kriegs-Marine-stamp of the stylized Eagle with swastika and below the M of Marine. There’s also an original Hanhart box included, the angles of these boxes were reinforced with metal. At the bottom they have almost always a Marine stamp, here just part of the stamp is visible, only a part of the Eagle and the initials "Kriegsmarine" are still intact. Just like the box in the book of Knirim, although these was stored slightly better. Every Kriegsmarine ship and U-Boat had them (see the list on photo 27) The swastikas, if present on the photos were airbrushed out. A beautiful set. Note IMPORTANT! I want to make it clear that we reject national socialism, their ideas and their politics for 100%. These kinds of objects...
